I have been looking for a cleaner version of mascara for some time and when I came across Aveda’s mosscara I knew I had to give it a try.
This mascara is made of Iceland moss – sounds good, right? Aveda products are known for their organic and natural ingrediances and lack of parabens. Even the packeging is 100% recycled! So how does this mascara work? First of all, I have three main criteria for a mascara:

1. It should give longer and darker lashes – we buy mascara for a reason, after all
2. It should not clump – you want your lashes to still look natural and well taken care of
3. The mascara should not smudge – no one wants the dredded racoon eyes
The review
Wearing this mascara feels like I’m barely wearing anything on my lashes. I find that very nice and natural, however it still does add both length and color to my lashes.

Although it doesn’t separate the lashes as neatly as the Chanel mascara I mentioned here, it doesn’t clump. This means that criteria 1 and 2 are met. I’ve been wearing it from morning until evening hours and it hasn’t smudged at all. At the same time it’s really easy to take off. All in all, I really like this mascara and view it as a great alternative to other mascaras out there, for those who want less chemicals in their everyday life. I ordered it online
