Summer is upon us, though not very much in Denmark where I live. But… Nautical style is a summer trend that keeps on coming back year after year… It’s all about wearing stripes, white dresses and topping it off with a pair of elegant shoes. There’s no reason to go all-out nautical with a white and blue striped t-shirt, white chino shorts, striped flats and a captain’s hat and look like a silly sailor, but mixing the individual pieces with other items that are in right now, can make you look like an outstanding fashionista.
The Nautical Look
You cannot go wrong wearing a blue and white striped t-shirt, and rolling up the sleeves is pretty cool right now, so that wouldn’t hurt either. Mix it with a pair of cut-off denim shorts and add a pair of cool sunglasses. You also have to have the right shoes to get that elegant and preppy look that makes you look like the chic captain of your own awesome yacht!
The Right Shoes
Stripes are good. Espadrilles with stripes are even better. These wedges from Chocolate Schubar will surely set the right tone at any beach, and white and blue aren’t the only colors allowed.

We might as well mention the classics. Yes, Sebago Docksides are classic sailor shoes and who wouldn’t want to have these fantastic and comfortable shoes? Sebagos aren’t the only sailor shoes, in fact there are a lot of them. If you’re not completely into Sebagos these navy styled skippers from Keds might be more your style.
Are You a Captain?
Do you like the nautical style? How would you style a pair of striped shoes?

Woot! I love boat-themed clothes. 30% of my summer wardrobe is either blue or white. It’s so summery! Nice post, as usual!
