My Lipstick Collection

Post image for My Lipstick Collection

It seems as though lipsticks come and go out of style. Some consider them to be old fashioned, some a bit matronly, but over the past few years, it seems as though lipsticks have resurfaced and once again become women’s preferred lip products along with lip colors and glosses.

Many women are practically scared of putting on a bold red lipstick – we’re afraid everyone will stare, it won’t look pretty on us or it won’t feel right. I felt the exact same way, but a couple of years back, I decided to try it out – it was one of my New Year’s resolutions I remember, and ever since I tried it, I have been loving red lipsticks.

Since then, I’ve moved on to some lighter pink tones as well, which work well for day looks. Just remember, don’t go over-board and don’t try to match your lipstick with your clothing! It’s also always a good idea to prepare your lips before putting on lipstick – it will look better and stay on longer! I use a lip exfoliator and a lip balm before putting on lipstick. Lipstick does not look good on dry and chapped lips. What do you guys think of lipsticks? Do you wear them?

Wow, you have quite a collection there! Beautiful choice of colours. :) I love lipstick but I never seem to find enough occasions to wear it!

Hope you are having a gorgeous weekend! :)

Quite a collection you have! I need to sort through mine and pick up a more subtle day look, every time I think I have one I then realise that it’s way too garish! Its hard to resist the bright shades… I wore a nudish shade the other day and that was a lovely change, I may invest! Xxx

I saw you in a video wearing a nude lip – it’s was very pretty, but you’re one of those women who can wear a red lip any time of the day! x

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Love your lipstick collection. I agree, I was never into lipsticks but decided I wanted to open up my world and have never looked back. I am particularly liking orange-toned lipsticks right now, like the coral one in the first photo. Love!

Swatches would be helpful rather than showing the outside tubes of lipsticks. :-(

I like this post; i think I enjoy yours photos the most. You have a nice way of staging the pieces; like what you did with your watches post. But i’m veering off track here! I enjoy wearing pink myself, however because I have brown skin tone; I have to be very mindful of the type of pink (and nude) I should wear. Ever since Maybelline came out with their Sensational lipstick line; that is all I buy. They stay on, and the price is fairly reasonable. But maybe it’s time i give MAC a chance.
